$Free.99…

Well, I’ve said this before and I guess I’m bragging a bit but I’m doing this because what I did you can do too!!! I haven’t had cable for about 7 years. So, they got to the point where these jokers were charging me almost $300.00 a month! Well, it wasn’t quite $300.00 a month but it was creeping up to that & I could see it going up to that in a few months. Basically, that year I would be paying that. I’ve told that whole horrific story in a previous post. It also details what I did about it & kept watching my favorite shows.   Basically, my situation […]

Rebel Moon: A Review

Rebel Moon: A Review

Wow. Where do I start? First of all I love sci-fi and I love comic books. I love the genre. It would not be a stretch to say I’m obsessed with it. I mean I made it my life’s work. Literally. Read my bio. When I found out that this was a Star Wars story that just didn’t get made, I was in. Now I see why. Disney took one look at the script and tried to find some interesting characters and some kind of story. If there’s one thing these guys know is story!  although, currently, they seem to have thrown out their winning formula for some weird

The Penguin – non spoiler review

The Penguin – non spoiler review

So, I remember watching the Batman. It was incredible… and the one thing that stuck in my head was the Penguin. First of all, Colin Farrell, the incredible makeup job that he had plus his superb acting really flipped me out. I couldn’t tell that it was him! His performance was really that good. Same thing with this series.    Now, when I first checked it out, I have to admit, I was expecting a top hat and some trick umbrella nonsense. Some real Batman stuff. But what I received was some real gangster stuff. And I mean some real gangsta, gangster stuff.    This is some real down and

METOONS

Well, I have not had cable in years. Truth be told there were one or two channels that I watched on the regular so it was like paying for nothing. On top of that I had been with this company for over 25 years. To repay my loyalty they raised my monthly bill to just shy of $300 bucks. A friend of mine suggested that I call them up and explain to them exactly how long I had been with them and try to work out a deal to lower my bill. So, I called them up and laid everything out to them. “I’m sorry sir, there’s nothing I can

TV Show Review – Blue Eye Samurai

TV Show Review – Blue Eye Samurai

Brutal. Bloody as hell. And absolutely beautiful. Blue Eye Samurai is a French-American adult animated action streaming television series created and written by husband and wife team Michael Green and Amber Noizumi, and co-produced and animated by Blue Spirit. Its premise is pretty simple; During Japan’s Edo period (17th century), a half-white half-Japanese swordsmaster Mizu quests for vengeance against four white men who illegally remain in Japan during the closing of its borders by the Tokugawa shogunate. But its execution (pun intended) is not. Mizu cut a swath of blood throughout Japan in they’re quest for vengeance. There are a myriad of back stories, mysteries, and twists that plague and enlighten us as the viewers as the tale is told with breathtakingly rendered 3D animation. It looks as

The MCU Before the MCU…

The MCU Before the MCU…

This post starts a new series on the site that focuses on the MCU from the 1970s. I don’t know how many parts it will be but it’ll be a few. Marvel actually started putting out stuff in the 60’s (which believe it or not I was to young for and started watching the reruns in the 70’s). However, they really started cooking in the 70’s & 80’s and thats what I’m going to discuss here because well, dagnabbit I actually remember it! I’m also doing a series of articles on Dc Comics media in the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s because there was a lot of it but more

Cut the cord – part two

Cut the cord – part two

Welcome back Flipsiders! Good to see you!!! I’m assuming that you’ve made your list of programs and the channels they’re on. If you haven’t done that stop reading, go put it together and then come back here. Back? Good! The first thing I want you to do is to check out your list and see what programs that you watch are over the air. Mark them down. Put a little check next to them on that paper. We’ll start with those. Remember those sites that I told you about that show where the networks are broadcasting from? Also take notes next to them in regards to where to place your

How to cut the cord #1…

Alrighty! To make long story short, We want you to watch what we watch and pretty much save you some money. So, we decided to create a series that helps you do just that! Sounds fun, eh? Well, I’m pretty much a tech-head, so I’m going to walk you all through this thing because paying a million dollars a month sucks. I’ve tried to get my mother to do it but she thinks cord cutting requires a sharp object. I guess the first thing is… DO NOT JUST TELL YOUR CABLE COMPANY TO SUCK IT!!! You still neeed them or someone like them to get internet for the house. I
